Wax System
This system serves to construct the lipstick's structural integrity and stabilize its physical form. Common components include beeswax, carnauba wax, and microcrystalline wax; these ingredients provide firmness at room temperature, enabling the lipstick to maintain a solid state and hold its molded shape effectively. Furthermore, they enhance adhesion and longevity, preventing the product from becoming soft, collapsing, or breaking during use.
Pigment System
This system determines the lipstick's color rendition and visual aesthetic. It primarily comprises ingredients such as iron oxides, titanium dioxide, organic color powders, and pearlescent micas. By combining different pigments, manufacturers can achieve a diverse range of effects-spanning the spectrum from matte to high-gloss finishes, and from natural nude tones to highly saturated, vibrant hues. In certain products, Vitamin E or botanical extracts are also incorporated to boost antioxidant activity and provide lip-conditioning benefits, thereby endowing the lipstick with both aesthetic appeal and fundamental skincare functionality.
